Your Questions, Answered
What is an escape room?
An escape room is a live-action themed puzzle game.
You and your friends will be locked inside a room and will have to scavenge for clues, solve a series of puzzles and complete a task or find your key to an exit in order to ‘escape the room’.
What is the “back to back” experience?
We have 2 escape rooms – The Doctor’s Secret and Playtime – that are based in the Solitude Heights Asylum, and form a “story arc”. Playtime begins right where The Doctor’s Secret ends.
So, if you have these two adventures one after another, in that sequence, you will effectively be taking part in a 2 hour escape adventure. You will enjoy the story a whole lot more.
So, how do you make that happen?
Look for a day where there are consecutive time slots available – the first one in Doctor’s Secret, and the second one in Playtime. Make your bookings appropriately, and then let us know your booked slots and that you want a “back-to-back” experience.
On your chosen date, please arrive 10-15 minutes ahead of your first time slot, and inform your game master that you would like to have a b/booking/ack-to-back experience.
We will do our best to make it happen, including a seamless transition from Doctor’s Secret to Playtime so the immersion isn’t broken mid-way.
Please note, however, that the 2-hour experience isn’t guaranteed.
Will we really be locked inside the room?
No, the doors will not be locked. You are free to exit at any time.
Is it scary?
2 of our adventures – The Doctor’s Secret and Playtime – are set in an asylum and include some scary elements. Playtime especially has some horror elements like pools of blood and speaking dolls. However, our aim is to immerse you in an exciting experience, and not to repeatedly interrupt you with jump scares. We are an escape adventure room and not a haunted house.
Bottomline: While some of our adventures include scary elements, the point is never to terrify you but to create a thrilling atmosphere.
What do we need to bring?
Bring your thinking caps! And reading glasses if you need them.
Everything else will be prohibited in the room: cell phones, flashlights, lock picks, or any tools are not invited in the room with you.
We have storage lockers for small to medium sized purses or bags for your convenience.
Can we arrive intoxicated?
First of all, rest assured that being “under the influence” does not enhance the adventure at all. Our adventures are based on you taking part actively in the proceedings, spotting clues, unravelling codes and accomplishing tasks.
It’s the complete opposite of a movie where you just sit and watch.
Furthermore, intoxicated guests almost always result in breakages and injuries, both of which we seek to avoid.
So, if you arrive intoxicated you will be asked to leave. No requests for refunds or reimbursements will be entertained. AND, we WILL charge you a $500 fee for each broken prop or game piece or anything you throw up on.
Will there be strangers inside the room with us?
No!
it will be just you and whoever you choose to bring. Private games only!
Will there be live actors inside the room?
We may have live actors as part of a skit that will brief you on your mission. And one experience – The Fortune Teller – may have a live actor inside the room, but they will be physically separated from you.
Can we pay separately? Can we pay in cash?
What are your cancellation, rescheduling and late arrival policies?
Cancellation: All bookings are final and non-refundable. Cancellations, no-shows, and late arrivals will not be reimbursed.
Rescheduling: If you need to reschedule your reservation date and/or time, you have to do so ONE DAY PRIOR to your activity date. Changes that are made on the same day of your reservation will be subject to a fee and are not guaranteed.
Late Arrivals: If you or any group member will be late, please notify us. We give a 15 minute grace period from your reservation time, after that, we may have to cut into your game time.
Do ya’ll have any promotions running right now?
If we do, it will be posted on our homepage or on social media pages: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter. Don’t forget to follow us! If you don’t see anything, you can always give us a call at (702) 551-3075 to check!
Is this immersive theater or escape room?
One of our company’s goals is to provide a fully immersive experience. We want to blend the immersive theater world with the escape room world. We don’t even like the term escape room as a way to describe our model. Something more akin to “Adventure Room”. The idea is we want to tell you a story, a story where you get to interact with interesting characters inside of an exciting new world. One where you have to figure out how to progress the story in order to find out how it ends.
